Oh, I've been around for over 37 years. My old comrade and friend kept me in the closet for years. No fault of his own, he made a career in transportation; just wasn't around for the post meetings, etc. Then a few years back his old buddy Max said "Hey, it's Tuesday. How about going to a Post #19 meeting tonight?" Well my old friend dug through the closet and found me all dusty and wrinkled. I looked pretty sorry. He got the steam iron out and cleaned me up right pretty. Hey, I still fit.

Membership Chairman's Message - October 2007

As we enter into the month of November our Department goals for membership renewal will have increased to 65% and will increase an additional 10% in December.

It is easy to see that these are hard months to push membership renewals, with all the holidays that occur and the outlay of funds by our members to procure items to make the holidays festive and rewarding. However as I said in last months newsletter, our National strength is our voice to congress, and is is only as strong as its membership which comes from the Blue caps of the Post.

For 30 years, Vietnam has been a lens through which all American foreign policy is viewed. Our stunning victory in the first Gulf War, many said, exorcised the demons of Vietnam. America an dour collation allies won decisively and ejected Saddam Hussein from Kuwait. But it was only a partial victory - we are still fighting to ensure veterans receive the benefits and treatment they earned.

"Proudly Serving Veterans" Pin and Cap Bag

During the 2007-2008-membership year, National COmmander Marty Conaster will award his National Commander pin to any Legion family member how sings up at least three new members. Any Legion family member who signs up six or more new members will receive a cap bag.

A "New Member is defined as any eligible person joining for the 2008 membership year who was not a member of The American Legion during the 2007 membership year.
